I use the Sony F828 camera that's not quite a DSLR and somewhere above a consumer camera. It lets me take very close up and i'm not burdened by extra lenses with still a solid camera.
that's a nice piece of kit. i just looked it up..... i'm surprised..... i thought Sony had discontinued the "L" shaped design.
i used a DSC-F717/707? for years and loved the ergonomics of the "L" shape, electronic zoom and the great pictures it took. it also had a rotating camera body so you could hold it up high or down low....... truly innovative and superior in many ways to standard SLR configuration.
i have to confess i became miffed at Sony when they didn't notify me of a sensor recall. mine failed about a year after the recall expiration. i swore-off Sony stuff, but i have to admit they are still a strong player in the digital photography realm and their new "A" SLR is competitive with Nikon and Canon.
in your case, though, i don't think the camera matters as much as the photographer. you have a masterful sense of composition and clearly have fun with the art form.
